 Nagaur or Naga-Pur is referred to within the Mahabharata. The kingdom of Ahichhatrapur which Arjuna is claimed to possess conquered and later on offered to his Guru Dronacharya, was perhaps some of the world of the Nagaur district. It was the capital of Jangladesh. The foundation of city dates back to fourth century B.C.. Hazrat Hamiduddin accommodated some Hindu principles in his teachings—he became a strict vegetarian and fondly reared a cow in his shrine.
